MWL NEWSFLASH
By: Dave Woodrum

SUNDAY NIGHT BRAWL, 3-15-98:

March 15's Sunday Night Brawl quickly proved to be quite a spectacle. Like the Sunday Night
Brawl of the previous weekend(which was the MWL's premiere event), the wrestlers were more
or less (see the match between "Gorgeous" Gary Beautiful and Primal) pitted against each other
by random draw, but this time the whole event was a lot more prepared. The highlights of each
match are presented below.

Heavy Metal Rocker (#73) d. Night Hawke (#46) - As speculated, the Heavy Metal Rocker
officially signed on with the Muscle Wrestling League this week and has already landed himself a
victory against Night Hawke. The match started out in much the same fashion as Night Hawke's
match against the Canadian Ninja from the previous Sunday Night Brawl (in which he lost),
showcasing a wide variety of ducks, dodges, and other defenses that kept the Heavy Metal
Rocker at bay. Soon, however, Night Hawke's brand of passive tactics proved useless as the
Rocker battled his way through with a series of flying clotheslines, Irish whips, and atomic drops.
Night Hawke submitted from a bear hug.

Canadian Ninja (#26) d. Granite (#23) - The Canadian Ninja returned to claim a second victory in
the MWL. This time it was against the recently signed Granite, who seemed to be coming on
strong at first with a powerful display of uppercuts. The Canadian Ninja soon turned the tides,
however, as he dropped his trademark karate chop in favor of a more agile and destructive
roundhouse kick. Granite was overwhelmed with this tactic and soon began to wear down. The
Canadian Ninja ended the match with a well executed Diamond Cutter, which also happened to be
the very same move he used to beat Night Hawke the previous week.

Johnny 1000 (#55) d. Captain Krinkle (#233)- What appeared to be at first a fine match against
two potentially great wrestlers soon proved to be the biggest let down of the evening. Not that it
wasn't interesting to see Johnny 1000's awesome aerial moves on display, it was the fact that
Captain Krinkle provided little competition for the masked wrestler. Repeatedly using a very
unique combination of atomic drops, drop kicks, and flying leg drops, Johnny 1000 was soon able
to wear his opponent down to a rather pitiful state. The good captain submitted to a dragon
sleeper.

Tangle (# 129) d. Muscleman (# 141)- This match was perhaps the most exciting of the evening
and proved itself to be the main event. First off, shortly after the names were called to enter the
ring, "Gorgeous" Gary Beautiful strolled out and began yelling and making demands. According
to Gary the drawing was fixed and he was supposed to have gotten to wrestle. He then made a
challenge to any wrestler on location to face off against him in a match following the current one
(featuring Tangle and Muscleman). Then as Gary stormed off, the lights dimmed and Tangle,
long time friend of Terribull entered the ring to face the legendary Muscleman. As the bell rang,
the two flew into action as they began to wear each other down with a series of mid punches,
airplane spins, and body slams. Muscleman grew into a raging fit and soon placed an early (and
unexpected from both his opponent and the audience) powerbomb on the yet undefeated Tangle.
The legendary wrestler was showered with boos from his audience which gave Tangle enough
time to recover. The two wrestlers once again went at it and though Muscleman had the
opportunity to slide out of the ring for brief moment to gain a second wind (once again resulting
in a negative response from the spectators), he was beginning to wear down from Tangle's skillful
opposition. Finally, though he had managed to place a second powerbomb on Tangle, Muscleman
submitted to a bear hug.

"Gorgeous" Gary Beautiful ( #101) d. Primal ( #75)- If Gary wanted to wrestle, then he got his
wish. Shortly after Beautiful's insults about the random drawing system (which MWL uses to set
up matches) and his not being allowed to wrestle in general, Primal stated his intentions to mop
up the mat with Gary's face. The two went at it in what was considered a "post main event"
match and Primal unleashed his custom blend of dirty tactics (his opening move was biting his
opponent's ear). Gary came through though, using his trademark drop kick over and over again
to wear Primal down. The match ended with Primal submitting to a dragon sleeper.

checklist. Not to mention a contest where you can win some M.U.S.C.L.E's!

#4. Member Kevin Mayle has made it into the Hall of Fame!!!!!!
Congratulations Kevin!!

#5. Members, BEWARE of someone named Ryan Panella aka Jon Corabi. It's been heard that he's
been ripping people off by taking money for M.U.S.C.L.E.'s and then never delivering their goods. He lives in
Erie/Fairview Pennsylvania.  Another scumbag trying to dishonestly profit off of peoples love for a great hobby.

#6. I've also had a complaint about Johhny Carwash doing the same thing. Someone sent him money for M.U.S.C.L.E.'s, that they have yet to receive, and he won't return this persons e-mails for two months now. I personally thought that Johhny was on the up and up, but now I'm not sure. Be carefull with this one.

I have acquired 27 Kinnikuman figures that you guys might want to hear descriptions of, and there are 3 of them that I am willing to trade: Some have no trade marks, some replace the / between the Y & S with a -, and they all replace the R in a circle with a P except two that replaces it with a B in a circle. They are all a pliable rubber with a dull sheen except two that are made like Stretch Armstrong, and in colors not available for MUSCLEs. The pink and blue look the same but dull and there is a different green and orange color and there are yellow ones and a neon pink. Also a lot of them are smaller than normal and are different sculpts of the figs we know. There are also some figs we don't know. One is that bug eyed guy shown on Tim Drage's page and there is a liitle guy with a cube for a head with the same symbol on his face that Ramenman wears on his chest in his cartoon "Fight! Ramenman" (this is also the symbol on the chest of the Greatest American Hero. Then there is a guy that looks like #123 holding a tomahawk and a guy that looks like #101 with a tube connecting his right ear to his shoulder. And lastly there is a little guy with an arrow on his Speedos and a strange mask on his large head. Now for the part you have been waiting for. I have an extra bug eyed guy in yellow, tomahawk guy in pink and a miniature different sculpt of #137 that I will trade for any for any guy not on the poster except the 2 that come with the wrestling ring ( I have those). Let me know if we can trade!

AND NOW.....It's time for the M.W.L. Sunday Night Brawl results!!!!
presented by Dave Woodrum!!!!!

Sunday Night Brawl, March 22, 1998

Here are the reports for the MWL Sunday Night Brawl for March 22....

Terribull (#105) d. Captain Krinkle (#233)-
If you were expecting the kinder, more gentle Terribull in this match, then you were probably
disappointed. Sure, the horned legend came strolling out to Rod Stewart's Da Ya Think I'm
Sexy?, but that's where passiveness ended. As soon as the bell sounded, Terribull ripped into the
good captain with an angry fury. Though Captain Krinkle tried his best to keep up, Terribull soon
forced Krinkle to submit with an ankle snap.

Heavy Metal Rocker (#73) d. Night Hawke (#46)-
Ten seconds into this rematch between Night Hawke and the Heavy Metal Rocker and all most
fans could say is "Why?" When the two faced off the previous week the victory was very clear
and without the slightest hint of broken rules. In other words, Night Hawke must have been out
of his mind to have gone up against the "Rocker" again. The whole match was more or less a
failure on Night Hawke's part, lacking in both offensive and defensive measures. The Heavy
Metal Rocker used a traditional Greeco Roman style pin to win the match.

Turbo(#232) d. Judo London (#200)-
While many MWL fans were disappointed with Turbo's performance a couple of weeks ago, he
quickly proved himself worthy of being a pro wrestler when taking on MWL newcomer Judo
London. While London sported a nice blend of martial arts and wrestling technique, he was no
match for Turbo's high speed attacks. London, however, did manage to get in a few strikes
before he was taken down by his opponent.

Tangle(#129) d. Canadian Ninja (#26)-
The main event of the evening was centered around a building tension between two of the best
superstars that MWL has yet to offer. The match up between the Canadian Ninja and the fierce
Tangle was indeed one of the most exciting MWL events yet. The two seemed to be well evened
at the beginning of the match but soon Tangle gained the element of control against the Canadian
Ninja. Though the Ninja fought on, the odds were against him and soon Tangle won the match
after a second well placed Choke Slam.

Sunday Night Brawl, March 29, 1998

The match results are as follows....

Canadian Ninja (#26) d. Judo London (#200)-

For those who feared that the Canadian Ninja's success in the MWL would end after his loss to
Tangle, you were wrong. Taking on recent arrival Judo London in the ring not only proved who
was one of the best wrestlers in the MWL, but also who was one of the best martial artists. Sure,
when the bell first sounded though, it seemed like Judo had the match set. He flew into the
Canadian Ninja with a devastating double roundhouse kick combo followed by a splintering flying
leg drop but those few short seconds of recovery time that Judo needed to get up off the floor
gave his opponent an opening. The Canadian Ninja placed his trademark karate chop across
Judo's back and then followed it up with a roundhouse kick to his side. Finally, as Judo made a
weak attempt to once again get up off of the floor, The Canadian Ninja grabbed Judo's ankle and
snapped up a fast victory as Judo London painfully submitted to the move. This match has been
the shortest in the MWL to date.

Slik "The Sleaze" Slasher (#207) d. Granite (#23)-

The match between the new arrival Slik "The Sleaze" Slasher and Granite was quite towards
Slik's favor. While Granite did perform a few of his favorite moves on Slik, The Sleaze quickly
proved himself to be match worthy as he tore into Granite with a nasty display of eye gouging,
head butts, atomic drops, and belly to belly suplexes. A final power bomb won the match for Slik.

Primal (#75) d. Muscleman (#141)-

While everyone expected Muscleman to win this one nice and easy, he didn't. Just like his first
match in the MWL, Muscleman hasn't shown the same sort of skill that he's known for in other
federations. Okay, so it is true that Primal was fighting rather dirty, but then that's his style.
Muscleman should have known this before he stepped into the ring against Primal.
The match started off with one of Muscleman's trademark mid punches. It connected well,
sending a satisfying grunt from Primal. Then, however, as Primal began unleashing his unique
blend of rabbit punches, choke holds, bites, and airplane spins, things just started to go downhill
for the wrestling legend. All in all, it was really a decent match for the both of them, but Primal
choke slammed Muscleman hard enough to send him flipping over the ropes and landing outside
of the ring, the match was finished in Primal's favor.

Eddy Greece (#211) d. "Babyface" Pete London (#172)-

The main event consisted of two newcomers, Eddy Greece and "Babyface" Pete London (who is
the cousin of Judo London and Judo's brother Nigel (who was also signed up this week)). It was
perhaps the best match of the whole evening though most fans were wanting to see a return of
Tangle to the ring. While flying leg drops and bull dogging helped Babyface wear down Eddy, his
opponent soon turned the tides with back handed smacks (one of which knocked Babyface out of
the ring) and drop kicks. A well placed Greeco Roman style pin on Babyface won the match for
Eddy Greece.

I know it's a little late for me to be doing this but I've decided to
finally put together an all pink M.U.S.C.L.E. set for myself. I'm
looking for basically all and any pink M.U.S.C.L.E.s you have to spare.
The problem is, is that I've either traded or even given most of my
doubles away, so I could only pay cash for any M.U.S.C.L.E.s you've got
to spare. But for those of you whom I've GIVEN a few to, this is the
time to pay me back if you'd like. I'd really appreciate any help. For some reason all my M.U.S.C.L.E.s are covered with this damn paint! Yuck!

Also, if you haven't already, check out my newly revamped "M.U.S.C.L.E.
Championship Wrestling" website. No new wrestlers, just a new look.

For all you MCW fans information, Mr. Intensity has lost the World Title
to Peck Peck the Giant this last Friday. Check out News & Rumors section
on my site for details.

See you all at the chat in May!!! Thanks, Jason Radniecki

AND NOW.............Lets get ready to
rumblllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllle!!!!!!

It's time for Dave Woodrum's MWL Report, and it's an exciting one!......

Sunday Night Brawl, 4-19-98

Here are the event of the 4-19 Sunday Night Brawl....

The Bondsman (# 181) d. Trailblazer (# 182)- This was a very good match, though rather short since Trailblazer proved to be no match for The Bondsman. After a few moves and a couple of minutes in the ring, Trailblazer submitted to an ankle snap.

Judo London (# 200) d. Captain Krinkle (# 233)- First Judo becomes a first class wrecker of families, now he's into dreams. Though the good captain was trying to restore his image in MWL, Judo had a bag full of karate kicks and wrestling moves to stop Krinkle in his tracks. Though Captain Krinkle put up a good fight, a torture rack finished him off.

Muscleman (#141) d. Rampage (#111)- For all those fans of Muscleman waiting for his first MWL victory, the waiting ended here. Going up against Rampage, a new MWL wrestler who claims a lot more than he shows, The Muscleman spent no time getting into the action. In fact, within moments, he had worn down the "mighty" Rampage and a final powerbomb finished things off.

Heavy Metal Rocker (#73) d. Canadian Ninja (#26)- This was a good match between two MWL fan favorites. Though the Canadian Ninja fought well, he was no match for the Rocker and an early bear hug proved it.

SPECIAL THREE MAN MATCH: Nighthawke (#46) d. Turbo(#232) and Tangle (#129)-
This is a match that will linger in the minds of MWL fans for a long time to come. First off, after being referred to as "the worst wrestler in MWL", Nighthawke won his first match. Second, it was a special three man match with the "last man standing" law. While this was surprising enough, the big news was that one of the wrestlers defeated was none other than Tangle, who is currently one of the top wrestlers in the MWL. The match started with Turbo charging into Tangle, then when an opening came, Nighthawke rushed in with his own attacks, ending his strategy with a sleeper hold that Tangle couldn't get out of. With Tangle out of the way and Turbo quite surprised, Nighthawke began wearing down his second opponent. Finally, Turbo submitted to the same sleeper that took out Tangle.

Sunday Night Brawl, 4-26-98

Here's the news of the 4-26 Sunday Night Brawl....

New Wrestlers: There are ten new wrestlers to join the ranks....

The Fox (#124)- Since there are other great wrestlers in the MWL that compete in other federations, there's no reason that the MWL shouldn't pay large amounts of money to bring in The Fox as well.

Slate (#65)- A new edition to the growing MWL cruiser weight division.

Cyrus Grippe (#27)- Old friend and sometimes rival of Tangle.

Billy Thugg (#29)- Rugged West VA wild man.

Eric "The Norseman" Norse (#50)- A noble Viking powerhouse.

Blade Diamond (#126)- Straight from L.A. and into the ring. Blade is a distant cousin of Kilroy Anvil.

Dragon Master (#166)- The first of several Asian warriors expected to arrive in the MWL.

"Texas" Pete Austin (#208)- King of body slams, torture racks, airplane spins, and back breakers.

Shawn "Shag Nasty" Shagster (#223)- Past legend, now looking for success in the MWL.

Tread (#231)- Friend of Trailblazer.

Here are the results of the Brawl...

Judo London (#200) d. Blade Diamond (#126)- Judo, who seems to be losing popularity by the week, is still one of the best competitors in MWL, even though hardly anyone likes him. Blade decided to make his debut against Judo and that ended up being a mistake. After being battered by several roundhouse kicks, Blade submitted to Judo as the unpopular martial artist peformed a devastating claw.

Stan Special (#69) d. Turbo (#232)- This appeared to be a battle of bulldogging and body tackles and Stan, being an ex football player, naturally won. Sure, Turbo put up a good fight and all, but there was little more than he could do other than step in for Stan's tackling dummy.

"Gorgeous" Gary Beautiful (#101) d. Muscleman (#141)- Though Muscleman has been making a comeback, he is not quite ready to face someone like Gary Beautiful. Using a series of moves both dirty and lethal, Gary managed to wear Muscleman down enough to get on an unbreakable dragon sleeper.

Eddy Greece (#211) d. Slik "The Sleaze" Slasher (#207)- This match probably had some of the most support of any match in the MWL. First off, the fans were going wild for Eddy Greece (though Slik assumed the cheers were for him) and second, Terribull showed up to "coach" Eddy (followed by The Bondsman for Slik). Though Slik managed to land a few good moves, Eddy walked out with the victory.

Nighthawke (#46) d. The Bondsman (#181) and Slate (#65)- After his victory in the three man match last week, Nighthawke felt the need to do it again and thus he did....this time against the newly signed Slate and the fearsome Bondsman. While The Bondsman intended to take both the wrestlers down, Nighthawke and Slate battered him up first. The Bondsman soon submitted to a sleeper (thanks to Nighthawke) and the two remaining wrestlers, both cruiser weights, battled it
out for the victory. Nighthawke managed to get Slate in a sleeper as well, allowing Nighthawke a second MWL win and a closer shot at the World Championship Title.

"Texas" Pete Austin (#208) d. Phaser (#167) and Kilroy Anvil (#71)- In the second and final three man match of the evening, Pete Austin proved to worthy enough to wrestle in the MWL.  First off, with some help from Kilroy, Pete managed to wipe out Phaser by getting him in the torture rack. Then, after a hard battle with Kilroy, Pete also managed to take out his other opponent with the torture rack.

MCW Announcements!

Mayumi regains U.S. Championship!
Comments by Mayumi: "Well, I didn't get to wear the U.S. belt the first
time around cause they didn't have one, on a count of MCW's low budget
at the time. So I guess I'm excited now... WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT!"

Comments by Stone Cold Beez will be posted in next week News & Rumors as
well as a commentary by The Ernest & Julio Gallo on the stagnant
tag-team situation. The MCW President may also comment on EMW's debut
this weekend, so stay tuned as the federation feuds heat up!

July 4th will be the official date of MCW's next pay-per-view. It's not
known yet to what exactly what the theme of the event will be. The
original concept was simply a summertime M.U.S.C.L.E.-Mania type event
title "MCW Wrestle War". But in the on-going effort to be original, the
idea of some sort of M.U.S.C.L.E. Olympic games event has been tossed
around the boardroom. Though this my be unlikely after the recent
comments by EMW owner Mr. Blackford on how MCW fails to focus on it's
primary business of "wrestling" with trips to Disneyland and Chuck E.
Cheese, etc.. But we'll see!

Speaking of pay-per-views, we might as well announce this one as well.
MCW's final pay-per-view event will be held sometime in October. The
name of the event will be "Lord of the Ring". This will be the
tournament of tournaments to determine the absolute best wrestler in all
of MCW. The event will go something like this: The top 20 wrestlers will
have their names thrown into a hat, not a bowl or box, a hat. Probobly
Jethro's hat. The names will be drawn in pairs and those pairs will be
teamed up to go against other teams in a one round 10 team elimination
tournament. The 5 winning teams (or 10 wrestlers) will go on to a 10 man
over-the-top battle royal til there are two men left. The 2 remaining
men will go on to a most-pins-wins iron man match. The winner win be
crowned "Lord of the Ring", a title to be held and claimed til next
year's event. We're jumping the gun a little with this announcement, but
with the rise of EMW and possibly more M.U.S.C.L.E. feds on the way, we
have to lay claim to our events and characters ASAP before copyrights
are infringed upon.

We would also like to apologize for the lack of updates lately. We hope
to get back on track soon enough after all this controversy settles down
and bring out that "gay" tag-team you've all been dying for!

That's it for now! MCW 4-LIFE!!!

AND NOW!
Let's get ready to RUMBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLE!!!!!

It's once again time for Dave Woodrum's M.W.L. Update

MWL NEWSFLASH!:

THE ELEVEN (?) MAN BATTLE ROYALE RESULTS ARE IN!!!!!!!

As you already know, the MWL World Champion Belt was up for grabs in a ten man battle
royale, but what hardly anybody knew was that it was to become (due to a tie for 10th) an eleven
man battle royale and who was going to be in it.

Here were the 11 wrestlers....
The Bondsman(#181), Nighthawke (#46), Canadian Ninja(#26), Kilroy Anvil (#71), Johnny
1000(#55), Terribull (#105), "Gorgeous" Gary Beautiful (#101), Tangle(#129), Judo
London(#200), Eddy Greece (#211), Heavy Metal Rocker (#73)

A Basic Run Down Of The Match:
Immediately following the ring of the bell, Judo launched in on Eddy Greece with a series of
roundhouse kicks followed by a well placed claw, causing Eddy to submit very early into the
match. Annoyed by their ally's quick loss, Terribull and Gary Beautiful ganged up on Judo
London. Meanwhile, Nighthawke, Heavy Metal Rocker, and Canadian Ninja worked on Tangle
as The Bondsman was confronted by Johnny 1000 and Kilroy Anvil. As the center of the ring
became a blur of fists and flying sweat, Gary leaped off the top ropes to pin Judo with the aid of a
frogsplash. Then, following Judo's demise, Tangle got caught in a well placed sleeper, care of
Nighthawke, and submitted. Shortly after, The Bondsman took out Johnny 1000 with a diamond
cutter. Enraged that he had been more or less ignored, Kilroy chokeslams The Bondsman,
knocking down the competition even further. Then, as Kilroy approaches the center, Terribull is
suddenly put into a sleeper by Nighthawke. With only five in the ring remaining, Rocker moves in
towards Beautiful, and brings the competition down one more notch thanks to a nicely performed
standing cradle. Turning his attention back towards the battlefield behind him, The Heavy Metal
Rocker rushes back in and bearhugs Kilroy. Kilroy submits and as soon as he is rolled out,
Nighthawke launches into one of his flying headbutts and impacts The Rocker. Following this up
with another opponent reducing sleeper, Nighthawke finds that he is the only one left to fight the
Canadian Ninja. Though both were worn down from the event, the Canadian Ninja manages to
press on long enough to force Nighthawke to submit to an ankle snap, allowing the Ninja to claim
the World Champion Belt!

The Canadian Ninja (46) is now the MWL World Champion!

What About The Sunday Night Brawl?
Due to network problems, the Sunday Night Brawl has been canceled from air. Instead, the
MWL will begin broadcasting "On Tour", as the MWL begans it's journey in search of better
competition and new fans.

WOW!!!! Thank Dave! I myself have been eagerly anticipating this match for over a month now!!!
We look forward to whatever you have to throw our way in the future!!!
